How to install the GT-Phenom on your QR
-
1
Attach the GT-Phenom to your 70mm QR using the 3 screws supplied with the wheel. It is not necessary to open the steering wheel hub to do this.
-
2
Connect the steering wheel to the PC via the provided coiled cable. Always use the original cable.
Note: It is important to supply the steering wheel with the necessary power to operate all LEDs, so it is highly recommended to use a powered USB HUB. -
Notes:
In order to connect the steering wheel to your wheelbase, you must have the corresponding QR, which is in line with the 70mm wheelbase standard. Some examples: in the Fanatec ecosystem you can use the Fanatec universal hub (V1 or V2), the CSL universal hub (V1 or V2) and the podium hub; If you have a Simagic base you need a Simagic QR and so on.
In the case of Logitech or Thrustmaster bases there are no dedicated QRs, but online you can find ones made of aluminium or 3D printed. Acelith does not produce Quick Releases.
Software
-
1 - Connect the Putton Plate to the PC
Connect the steering wheel to your PC through the rear USB cable. We recommend placing a USB HUB 2.0 under or behind the wheel base or a USB extension cable.
Make sure that enough power reaches the device. Cables that are too long may need a powered USB Hub.
-
2 - Install\Update SimHub
SimHub is required. It is free software, you can download it from here: DOWNLOAD.
If you already have Simhub, you need to update it to the latest version anyway, otherwise you will not see Acelith steering wheels among the supported devices. -
3 - Synchronise SimHub
On the main screen of SimHub click on your favourite simulator and synchronise the data if required. Remember that SimHub must always be active in the background.
-
4 - Add the device to your list of devices
After restarting SimHub (it is important to restart it) go to DEVICES, click on ADD NEW DEVICE.
-
5 - Add the device to your list of devices
Double click on the image of the device you want to add (Acelith GT-Phenom).
From now on, you will find the GT-Phenom in the list of your SimHub devices.
Note: It happens that despite restarting simhub, the device does not appear in the list. In this case you may have to update simhub by uninstalling the version you have on your PC. -
6 - Device Page
Via the device screen you can manage Leds, LCD, profiles etc.
Simhub is a very powerful open source software. Online you will find many guides for customising your steering wheel.
-
7 - Enjoy!
Enjoy your new GT-Phenom.
Consider supporting the creator of SimHub for their excellent software; with just a small fee, you can unlock additional features, like a higher display refresh rate, which is highly recommended.
Optional Clutch
-
The clutch lever is automatically read by windows as an analogue signal. However, it is necessary to make a calibration when first used.
To do so, open the ‘Set up USB game controllers’ window by searching for it in the Windows search bar
-
Double-click on the device name.
If it does not appear make sure the wheel is connected. -
- In the ‘Settings’ tab click on ‘Calibrate...’.
- Click on ‘next’ to the ‘Z-axis’ page
- In the Z-axis window, fully depress and release the clutch. Then click on forward and go to the end, ignoring the following pages.
Now the clutch is calibrated. Any other calibrations can be done in game, depending on the game\simulator.
