Ace Morph User Guide (Both the U30 and G30 versions)
Please note: This page is dedicated solely to the use of the Ace Morph.
If you're looking for a tutorial on how to install the Ace Morph G30 on your Logitech G29/G920/G923 wheel, here's the installation guide. The procedure is the same as for all other Acelith - Logitech mods.
Mounting the U30 (universal) version onto universal button plates depends on the specific button plate. Feel free to contact us if you have any doubts.
How to use the Ace Morph
-
The central plate: the core
The central core (see image) is the only part of the wheel fixed to the button plate.
As you can see, it has metal extensions at the four ends. That’s where all the modules can be attached. -
Standard Modules
The standard modules are the ones included with the Ace Morph base kit.
To attach them:
- Slide the central core’s metal extensions into the groove of the module, following the correct orientation as shown in the picture;
- From the back, insert the cylindrical head screws and tighten them.
-
Warning!
- When tightening the rear screws, make sure they are secure but not overtightened, to preserve the threading.
- Due to the handcrafted nature of the product, some modules might fit more or less easily depending on the edges of the synthetic leather.
-
Lower Modules
The lower modules have a third anchoring point to the central core. It’s optional, but you can use it if you want increased rigidity.
Important: for this optional fastening point, you can use either the countersunk screw or the cylindrical head screw. If you choose the former, more aesthetically suited, pay attention to its hex socket, which is smaller and more delicate. Keep this in mind if you plan to swap out that module frequently.
-
End Caps
The kit also includes two end caps. Use them in spots where you don’t want to attach any modules but still want to cover the exposed metal extensions.
They’re mounted just like the standard modules. Make sure not to overtighten them!
How to mod the Ace Morph
-
Open to Modding
Here’s an example of a possible mod on an Ace Morph.
Over time, we’ll collect all the mods created by us or the community and showcase them on a dedicated page. Coming soon!
But we’ve prepared a modding "starter kit” if you’re feeling impatient. -
Modding "starter kit"
Download Modding Starter KitHere’s a starting point. From THIS LINK you can download the STL file, which includes, from top to bottom:
- The "smartphone holder with velcro" mod;
- The original end caps;
- The two upper ends of the Ace Morph’s central core, positioned at the correct distance from each other.
To secure the mods onto the central core, we use these M5 threaded inserts, which require a 6.4mm hole in PLA/SLS. You can insert them into the hole simply by heating them, using, for example, the tip of an electronics soldering iron.
Ah, I almost forgot: when designing, always leave at least 1 mm of clearance between the original grips and your 3D model. The grip coating is about 1.5 mm thick and is not included in the provided 3D drawing. Keep that in mind!
FAQS
-
How much does it flex?
The wheel does not flex under normal use. While driving, you won’t feel any movement.
However, if you deliberately apply forward pressure, the round upper module may show slight movement. -
How long does it take to swap a module?
40–50 seconds the first time.
With a bit of practice, even just 10 seconds. -
Can I buy the modules separately?
Modules will likely be available for separate purchase in the coming months. We're working on making this possible.
-
Can I mount leather modules on a suede central core, and vice versa?
Yes, all modules and central cores are fully compatible with each other, regardless of the material.
This will of course be possible in the future, once we start selling modules separately. -
Will you sell mods for the Ace Morph?
Possibly in the future, but the 3D models will be available for free.
-
What screws and tools are included in the kit?
In the case of the Ace Morph G30 (compatible with Logitech), you’ll find everything you need in the kit—including the adapter.
_____For the Ace Morph U30 (universal version), the kit includes not only the module mounting screws but also 6x M5 x 16 mm countersunk screws, suitable for attaching the plate to your QR or Button Plate with a 70 mm PCD. If your Button Plate requires longer screws, you can find them here: M5 screws.
